Law Society committee vacanciesFriday 20 June 2014
There are currently co-opted vacancies on the Membership Board, and a vacancy on the Conveyancing Land Law Committee.
The Membership Board is currently looking to appoint to two seats for co-opted members to complement the background, skills and experience of existing members. The Board plays a key role in overseeing the management of the Law Society's relationships with the profession at large and the services offered by the Society.
The Board is particularly interested in practitioners from City firms, in-house counsel, or those with knowledge of practice in Wales.
If you are interested in applying for either of the Membership Board co-opted seats, please submit a 250 word statement to email@example.com
The Conveyancing and Land Law Committee currently has two vacancies and is particularly interested in recruiting:
- experienced solicitors specialising in commercial property (whether investment or development) and also in commercial landlord and tenant work, eg from a background as a solicitor in transactional or professional support or commercial propertylitigation.
- nationally renowned land law and landlord and tenant experts - academics, solicitors or barristers (including Queen's Counsel), able to contribute substantially to the technical output of the Committee, eg practice notes, consultation responses and transactional documentation.
- academics or experienced solicitors working in Wales.
We wish to encourage applications from all parts of the community irrespective of gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation or disability. Applications are particularly welcomed from women and minority ethnic practitioners, who are under-represented on committees. Appointments will be made on merit, following an open process.
To apply for these seats, please fill out the application form and monitoring form and return it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Travel and subsistence expenses and an annual incidental expenses allowance of £626 are paid.
The deadline for return of applications and statements for these vacancies is 09:00 on Monday 14 July 2014. If you do not hear from us within three weeks of that date, please note that you have not been successful on this occasion.
